Sustainability is demonstrated in every decision

Our sustainability policy sets out the criteria that guide our work. It informs raw-material selection, resource management, process development and continuous improvement so that we can deliver high-quality leather through a responsible and verifiable approach.

01
01 — Framework

One consistent standard for every decision

Sustainability guides every decision we make. From raw-material selection to finished leather, we integrate traceability, quality, efficiency and control criteria to reduce environmental impact and deliver verifiable processes and results.

Our policy rests on four principles that guide every company decision: raw-material traceability, product quality, people’s safety and the continuous improvement of our processes.

02 — Decide before producing

Life-cycle-based decisions

Life Cycle Assessment as a tool

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is part of our environmental evaluation process. Before developing an article, we analyze the potential impact of different alternatives to identify those that reduce resource consumption and minimize impacts throughout its life cycle.

We turn analysis into concrete decisions:

01

Assess different processes and materials to select lower-impact options from the development stage.

02

Integrate environmental information into the development of every article to support well-founded technical decisions.

03

Identify opportunities to improve the use of water, energy and raw materials throughout the product life cycle.

04

Use the knowledge gained to review processes, reduce impacts and progress towards increasingly efficient solutions.

Decisions are backed by data.

03 — Traceability

Proximity adds value

We work with a predominantly European supply chain because proximity facilitates raw-material control, strengthens supplier relationships and improves responsiveness throughout the process.

Proximity is not merely a geographical matter. It also contributes to stronger traceability and more efficient supply-chain management.

Our supply chain

01

100% European origin. All our raw materials come from European suppliers.

02

60% sourced in Catalonia. Most of our hides come from Catalonia, supporting a local supply chain.

03

Stable relationships. We work with suppliers with whom we maintain established, documented business relationships.

04

Greater monitoring capacity. Proximity facilitates information exchange, document tracking and a faster response to any incident.

05

Animal welfare. We select suppliers that comply with European animal-welfare regulations prior to slaughter.

04
04 — Chemicals and resources

Responsible chemistry and efficient resource use

Managing chemicals and optimizing resource use are two permanent areas of work that allow us to keep improving our processes and developing leather aligned with the most demanding environmental standards.

ZDHC as a working principle

The ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) protocol is integral to the way we work. We review the substances used in our processes, investigate alternatives when necessary and carry out analytical testing to verify compliance with established standards.

Implementing ZDHC also involves continuous training and collaboration with suppliers, customers and the rest of the value chain as we move towards more responsible chemical management.

Efficient resource use

Reducing resource consumption is an ongoing improvement to the production process. We work to optimize water and energy use, incorporating technical solutions that increase efficiency without compromising leather quality.

This evolution is part of a permanent improvement strategy based on process analysis, innovation and technological investment.

Commitment

How we work defines the result

Every decision concerning raw materials, processes and resources is part of a single approach to tanning. An approach backed by technical criteria, verifiable information and continuous improvement.
